Position in in office in NYC 5 days a week
Soft Home Goods company is looking for a dynamic Product Development Manager for the kitchen and table categories. You will manage the Product Development process for our kitchen textile products (think table runners, napkins, towels, oven mitts, curtains, etc.). Prior Product development experience in the Soft Home Kitchen category is required. You will work closely with the design team on the assortment and make sure the product is cohesive with the trend direction and style. In essence, you will bring the products to life.
Key responsibilities:
- Execute Product Development Process for the Kitchen textile category
- Build technical packages including materials, specs, construction, etc.
- Sourcing/Pricing Manage product categories from design concept to production
- Communicate with vendors and overseas factories to source and discuss technical comments/issues
- Develop comprehensible, neat, presentations to present to sales and customers
- Ensure timely development of products by adhering to time and action calendar and prepare product presentations for review and Buyer meetings.
- Working closely with Design and Sales to ensure product needs are accomplished.
- Partner with Designers to ensure a cohesive collection across categories.
- Able to work on overlapping seasons and storylines.
- Maintain a pulse on fashion, culture, art, and lifestyle scene for trends.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8-15 years of experience in soft home textile (specifically Kitchen products) product development.
- Experience working on programs/products for retailers like TJX, Ross, Burlington, Walmart, Macy's, Kohl's, etc.
- High fashion aesthetics with modern aesthetic sensibility
- Very detail oriented, strong organizational skills and excellent follow up skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel and all Microsoft Office applications
- A background is sales is a plus
- Bachelor's Degree
