Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client's medical facility in Las Cruces NM 88011. This is a 4-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity, and it's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Job Title: Phlebotomist
Location: Las Cruces NM 88011
Pay Range: $16.68-$18.40 per hour
Schedule: Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm (40 hrs per week)
Duration: 4 Months+

Responsibilities:
- Perform venipunctures and other specimen collections (e.g., urine, fecal) using proper techniques, including straight and butterfly needles
- Clearly explain collection procedures to patients in a courteous and professional manner
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure accurate labeling
- Centrifuge, split, freeze, and store specimens per test order requirements
- Package and prepare specimens for transport, ensuring integrity is maintained per protocol
- Maintain accurate patient and specimen records, update information as needed
- Follow OSHA and DEP regulations, as well as internal lab safety and infection control procedures
- Perform routine decontamination and record equipment maintenance data
- Respond to phone inquiries and read lab results as necessary
- Participate in troubleshooting and suggest workflow improvements
- Attend required annual departmental training
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- A minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience is required.
