Job Title: Public Health Program Director

Duration: 12 Months
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the planning, implementation, and reporting of the State's Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program.
- Responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining the State's Pregnancy Smoking Cessation contract and budget.
- Determine the time, cost, resources, and materials needed to successfully enhance and expand the Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program cost effectively.
- Supervise and actively participate in the preparation and maintenance of a variety of reports related to the development and implementation of the Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program.
- Facilitate the development of short- and long-term program strategies and goals to enhance the State's Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program.
- Provide technical assistance to health department staff, community organizations, and funded contractors for the implementation and development of the State's Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with internal and external programs, partners, and organizations.
- Resolve conflicts and settle disputes and grievances with internal and external partners as it pertains to the State's Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program.
- Identify and ensure the implementation of educational resources needed for community partners to implement the Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program.
- Communicate and interpret policies and procedures to staff and community partners regarding the Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program.
- Perform and maintain public contact and liaison work within other departments, governmental entities, social and community agencies, and others in implementing, explaining, and interpreting programs to obtain desired actions.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance as it relates to the identification, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based interventions designed to reduce smoking during pregnancy.
- Collaborate with the internal evaluation team to assist in the planning and development of needs assessments, surveys, program evaluation, and data input.
- Develop and implement innovative and promising practices to address social determinants of health and support those who are disproportionately impacted by smoking during pregnancy.
- Create and distribute social media messaging, press releases, media campaigns, and various brochures for the advancement of the State's Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree
- At least 5 years of full-time, professional health program work
- At least 1 year of full-time supervisory work or statewide program oversight
Additional Information:
- This hybrid position has in-person attendance expected for the first day of employment for laptop deployment and onboarding in Nashville, TN.
- Contract for this position is expected to be renewed annually, pending program funding. Funding is anticipated to continue at least through June 2029.
- Candidates must be a resident of TN.
- In-person attendance for quarterly meetings and professional development opportunities.
