Position Summary
Wheeler Staffing Partners is hiring a Patient Access Market Director for a direct hire opportunity in Detroit, MI. This high-impact role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day patient access operations across multiple facilities, ensuring performance goals, productivity standards, cost control, and service excellence are consistently achieved. The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience managing multi-level teams across hospital units and driving strategic, metrics-based improvements in access and revenue cycle processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee patient access operations across assigned facilities, ensuring compliance with client SLAs, productivity goals, and process accuracy.
- Lead a team of directors and managers to achieve operational targets, improve patient cycle time, and drive continuous process improvement.
- Analyze financial performance (P&L) and manage human resources to align with budgetary goals and operational needs.
- Act as a change leader across locations to support process changes, staffing initiatives, and employee engagement strategies.
- Serve as a strategic partner to internal teams and stakeholders, contributing to broader organizational goals and performance outcomes.
- Ensure standardization, quality assurance, and consistent delivery of patient access services across all sites.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Direct Reports: Director, Patient Access I or II
- Indirect Reports: Manager, Patient Access I or II
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of leadership experience at the manager or director level, including management of multi-level teams.
- Minimum 1 year of director-level experience overseeing operations at multiple facilities or equivalent business leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree required (Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred).
- Experience working in large, multi-site healthcare systems or service organizations.
- Proficiency in managing operational metrics, P&L analysis, and staff development.
Preferred Skills
- Deep understanding of patient access workflows and the healthcare revenue cycle.
- Ability to lead change and manage complex operations with a strategic mindset.
- Strong data analysis, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience in high-volume, matrixed environments.
- Knowledge of healthcare billing forms and systems (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, HCFA1500, UB04).
