Project Engineer (Contract) – Renewable Energy & Water Treatment

AD Energy is seeking a Project Engineer (Contract) on behalf of a client partner operating a newly commissioned renewable energy and industrial water treatment facility in Pasco, Washington.
This role is ideal for a mechanically bias engineer who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about optimizing equipment performance and operational reliability. You'll be at the heart of plant operations—analyzing mechanical systems, troubleshooting issues, and driving improvement initiatives across critical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance using Excel and SCADA system data
- Conduct root cause investigations (e.g., 5 Whys) for mechanical failures and anomalies
- Recommend and implement both short-term and long-term corrective actions
- Collaborate with equipment manufacturers, plant operators, and engineering leadership
- Lead documentation and reporting on failure investigations and resolutions
- Maintain detailed performance logs and deliver weekly performance reports
- Participate in daily operations meetings, providing technical insight on system issues
Skills & Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, reliability engineering, or similar
- Solid working knowledge of pumps, valves, chains, lubrication systems, and other mechanical components
- Proficiency in Excel and confident managing performance tracking data
- Experience applying root cause analysis and maintenance best practices
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical findings clearly
- Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and in a team-oriented setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent field experience)
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and operational data analytics
- Background in industrial water treatment, process equipment, or manufacturing environments
