We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Department Manager to join our client's growing team in Hillsboro, OR. In this leadership role, you'll guide a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and technical staff as they shape the future of high-tech and semiconductor infrastructure.

🔧 What You'll Do

Technical Leadership

  • Direct the design and execution of complex electrical systems in mission-critical facilities (semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, R&D).
  • Oversee and guide power distribution, UPS, generators, lighting systems, and grounding schemes compliant with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and client specs.
  • Lead technical reviews, arc flash and load flow studies, and ensure quality control on all deliverables.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with architectural, structural, mechanical, and BIM/VDC teams.

Department Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing electrical engineering team.
  • Implement training programs, support PE licensure, and champion technical growth.
  • Manage hiring, performance evaluations, and long-term workforce planning.

Strategic & Financial Oversight

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and departmental financial performance.
  • Optimize internal processes for quality and efficiency.
  • Support business development: participate in client engagement, proposal efforts, and industry events.

✅ What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • PE license (or the ability to obtain it in a reasonable timeframe).
  • 10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or high-tech facilities.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and managing department-level operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with a track record of working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with budgeting and business development experience.
