Purpose

The Reliability & Risk Mitigation Manager is responsible for driving excellence in asset reliability and fire risk mitigation across all manufacturing sites in the organization. This role provides best practices in the reliability improvement, maintenance, and operation of risk management systems (fire/safety/environmental), as well as thermal and electrical systems. The position plays a key role in supporting capital projects by advising on system integration, risk mitigation strategies, and long-term asset reliability to ensure successful project execution and sustainable operations.

Key Responsibilities

Capital Projects

  • Provide subject matter expertise to ensure company risk management systems (fire/safety/environmental) comply with company and regulatory standards on all new equipment
  • Ensure all new risk management systems are documented in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system as a digital record.
  • Assist with Gate 4 process compliance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, EHS, and Maintenance teams to support project planning and execution from a reliability perspective.

Risk Mitigation

  • Oversee all RFP site fire system Inspection, Testing and Maintenance requirements to comply with NFPA-25 regulations. Additionally, lead compliance with all other NFPA codes and compliance requirements that may apply.
  • Work with Risk Assessment and Insurance providers during site visits.
  • Work with the manufacturing sites to recognize and implement opportunities with preventive measures to mitigate risk.

Additional

  • Provide sites with best practices for Thermal Oil, RCO/RTO, Boiler, Transformer and Electrical inspection and maintenance requirements.
  • Provide oversite for critical spares inventory for all sites.
  • Support sites in project management for major outages.
  • Act as an additional resource to secure outside contractors to execute major outages/projects.
  • Represent the company's interest in maintaining a strategy with the engineering group to ensure long term-health for Roseburg's assets at each site in the region.

Required Qualifications

  • BS Engineering Degree, or equivalent education, training, and experience
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing operations, maintenance or engineering experience at senior site level and reliability experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in operations, maintenance or engineering supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal communication skills including mentoring, coaching, facilitating discussions, and delivering presentations and project updates to all levels of the organization.
  • Previous leadership role/roles in various maintenance & reliability positions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Travel 40-60%

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS Engineering Degree, or equivalent, with 15+ years of progressive manufacturing operations, maintenance or engineering experience at senior site level.
  • 10+ years' experience in operations, maintenance or engineering supervisory role.
  • Wood products experience
  • SMRP certification (CRL, CMRP, CMRT, etc.)
