Role Objective:
The Reporting Analyst II will develop, maintain, and enhance strategic reports and dashboards supporting clinical, financial, and business operations. This position plays a key role in turning raw data into actionable intelligence to guide performance, quality improvement, and research initiatives. The analyst will work independently and as part of a collaborative team to meet evolving organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute SQL queries, ETL processes, and XML workflows for a wide range of reporting across healthcare service lines (e.g., outpatient, inpatient, financial services, risk adjustment, value-based care, and credentialing).
- Develop dashboards, scorecards, and data visualizations using Power BI and SSRS to support clinical and business decision-making.
- Provide guidance and recommendations on clinical informatics and business reporting strategies.
- Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to improve data pipelines, warehouse processes, and reporting architecture.
- Monitor and evaluate data trends and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy, functionality, and efficiency of reporting tools and processes.
- Assist in identifying redundant or inefficient reporting processes and redesign workflows for optimal performance.
- Participate in ongoing Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and performance evaluation efforts at the site level.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all data governance and compliance policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (preferred in Data Science, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in data science or business intelligence within a healthcare environment.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, SSRS, and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
- Strong experience with Power BI for reporting and data visualization.
- Proficiency in developing descriptive analytics, performance indicators, and business rule logic.
- Familiarity with quality metrics such as HEDIS, STARS, and Physician Quality Reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with predictive modeling and advanced data analytics.
- Understanding of risk adjustment and claims groupers (HCC, DRG, Episode groupers).
- Exposure to big data tools and healthcare payment models.
- Background in value-based care or clinical research reporting.
