Education/Experience Requirements – Senior Buyer
- Bachelor's degree preferred; a major in Business or Supply Chain preferred
- Expertise with SAP purchasing is required: This individual will be the Key SAP User
- A minimum of three years of experience focusing on procurement is required
- Experience in a medical manufacturing environment is preferred
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite and data extraction software is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in an environment with global objectives
- Must be able to read, understand and communicate in English
Position Responsibilities – Senior Buyer
- Placing individual orders for all kinds of direct material as well as call-off/release orders based on existing blanket orders/quantity contracts
- Order Management: Ensure on-time supply for all parts and work with Master Scheduler to manage exceptions
- Proactive communication of stock-out situations
- Master Data Management: Full responsibility for the master data for all assigned parts and suppliers, coordinating with Finance as required
- Slow-Moving, Excess, and Obsolete Inventory (SLOB): Identify and address slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory
- Inventory Management: Support departmental goals for turns and production schedule support
- PI/PO: Professional Execution of phase-in and phase-out processes at suppliers and locally, including but not limited to new products, EOL (End of Life), or supplier changes (phase-over)
- Supplier Forecasts: Regularly provide non-binding forecasts and updates on required quantities to suppliers to enable them to plan forward. Follow-up with suppliers after communication to ensure acceptance
- Quantity Contracts/Supplier Schedules/Blankets: Planning, issuance, and order management. Ensure vendors are utilizing the information appropriately
- Budget: Support the budget processes as directed by Finance and Management. Track performance to budget during the year
- Supplier Evaluation: Execution of frequent supplier evaluations according to procedures and needs of the business, including yearly capacity review against 12–24-month projections. Work with Procurement staff and Quality to implement improvements as needed
- Responsible for adhering to Purchasing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Training Lead for operational procurement: Execute training on SAP, operational purchasing procedures, and other relevant processes to members of operational procurement and other departments as it relates to operational procurement.
- Travel as may be required to meet business and customer expectations, up to 10%
