We are seeking a dynamic and analytically driven underwriter to join our multi-casualty team within our commercial E&S division. As a key member of one of the nation's largest and most respected MGUs, this role is responsible for evaluating, pricing, and structuring complex casualty risks across a diverse portfolio, with a strong emphasis on creative underwriting strategies and profitable growth.

• Assess and underwrite new and renewal E&S multi-line casualty accounts including General Liability, Products, Excess, and other specialty coverages
• Analyze risk characteristics, coverage requests, and exposure data for mid-to-large businesses across various industry sectors
• Develop tailored coverage structures aligned with broker needs and company risk appetite
• Collaborate closely with actuarial, claims, and legal teams to ensure sound underwriting decisions
• Cultivate strong broker relationships in the Midwest market, with a focus on strategic expansion and retention
• Monitor and respond to market trends, emerging risks, and regulatory updates within the E&S landscape
• Maintain compliance with internal underwriting guidelines and authority levels
• Contribute to portfolio profitability through disciplined underwriting and strategic account selection
• 3–7+ years of commercial casualty underwriting experience, preferably in E&S lines
• Proven expertise in evaluating complex risk profiles and non-admitted business
• Strong familiarity with coverage forms, ISO comparisons, and manuscript policy construction
• Exceptional technical acumen, negotiation skills, and broker-facing professionalism
• Bachelor's degree required; CPCU, RPLU or related designations a plus
• Deep understanding of the wholesale distribution channel and Chicago broker market
