Job SummaryThe Accounting Manager at The Zemba Companies will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and reports for all subsidiaries, as well as ensuring the office teams consistently hit crucial deadlines. With reporting to the Corporate Controller this position will be responsible for coordinating accounting procedures, ensuring a productive work environment, training new hires and cross-training and leading the accounting staff to support overall company efficiency. This person will drive reporting deadlines to ensure timeliness and also be responsible for ensuring GAAP compliance and best practices are being used within our accounting procedures.

This person will drive reporting deadlines to ensure timeliness and also be responsible for ensuring GAAP compliance and best practices are being used within our accounting procedures.Essential Functions

  • Maintain accurate financial records and reports for all The Zemba Companies subsidiaries.
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure the general ledger is maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Assist with preparation of annual budget
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as external regulations.
  • Assist in tracking annual capex spend, including budget to actual reporting
  • Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly management reporting provided to ownership.
  • Oversee month-end close procedures for accounting team; ensuring reporting deadlines are met with accurate reporting results.
  • Maintain accounts payable documentation and ensure timely processing of vendor payments.
  • Respond to information requests from management across all The Zemba Companies subsidiaries.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
  • Day-to-day collaboration with accounting staff.
  • Continuously update knowledge of accounting principles, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist the Corporate Controller with various tasks and projects as needed.
  • This position has freedom and flexibility to make the processes and team “their own” with the goal of maximizing productivity and reporting accuracy, without sacrificing culture.

Competencies Or Experience Requirements
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to learn multiple software platforms such as: HCSS, Service Core, Keystone, Sage Intacct.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to discretely handle highly confidential information.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across all The Zemba Companies subsidiaries.
  • Strong managerial skills to achieve the best performance out of the team, while doing so with respect, grit, safety, and accountability.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Internal Job Bid Requirements
  • Must have been employed at The Zemba Companies and/ or in the same position for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Must be able to work on-site daily.
