\nNurse Responsibilities\nPerform duties in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors
\nCarry out other assigned responsibilities as needed

\nBasic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
\nRegistered Nurse (RN) or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)
\nUPMC-approved national certification is preferred
\nMust hold current RN licensure in:
\nThe state where the facility is located, or
\nA state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the facility's state
\nCPR must meet AHA standards, including:
\nA didactic component
\nA skills demonstration component
\nCompleted within 30 days of hire
\nGraduate Nurses (GNs) must:
\nTake the licensure exam within 6 months of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first
\nNote: TPPs are valid for one year from graduation, not from issue date
\nGNs who do not meet this timeline may be terminated or demoted from the GN position at the discretion of the Business Unit (BU)
