Mission of Position:Supports and implements supply base strategy for Magna Powertrain North America in assigned commodities. Key Responsibilities: Works with the Strategic Commodity Manager and Operational Purchasing to support the assigned MPT commodity team. Assists in the development and implementation of the commodity strategy in assigned commodities. Manages RFQs to the supply base according to the commodity strategy to support Operational Purchasing programs (current and new). Evaluates supplier cost structure to obtain best overall value on behalf of MPT. Utilizes a total cost approach to optimizing piece prices for assign commodities, tactics to include but not limited to bundling, global sourcing, multiple sources/competition, specification changes, process optimization, value analysis/value engineering, logistics, and payment term improvement.
