The Sales Manager for Pharmaceutical Technologies is pivotal in driving new business and nurturing existing client relationships for GEA's pharmaceutical technologies, including Liquid Processing, Lyophilization, Spray Drying, Continuous Manufacturing, Fluid Bed Processing, Potent Material Containment, and Tablet Presses. This role entails cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders such as pharmaceutical executives, production managers, process engineers, scientists, and purchasing teams through a consultative sales approach. The Sales Manager will identify and qualify leads, pursue opportunities, and collect market intelligence while ensuring seamless communication between GEA North America, GEA's Core Technology Centers in Europe, and our customers. Acting as the customer's advocate within GEA, this position balances customer needs with GEA's order intake and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage new and existing customers through online and in-person visits.

  • Understand customer requirements and present tailored GEA solutions.

  • Develop technical expertise in GEA's pharmaceutical technologies.

  • Manage the complete sales cycle from inquiry to order placement.

  • Collaborate with service and spare parts teams to guarantee customer satisfaction.

  • Gather and analyze market intelligence on competition and industry trends.

  • Attend trade shows, industry conferences, and networking events.

  • Negotiate contracts, payment terms, and sales conditions.

  • Maintain precise records in SAP C4C CRM.

Requirements:

  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel 40-60% within the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico; occasional international travel may be necessary.

  • Valid Passport & Driver's License: Required for travel purposes.

  • Background Checks & Drug Screening: Must comply with company standards.

Your Profile / Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or a related technical field.

  • Experience: Minimum of five years in capital equipment sales or business development, preferably within the pharmaceutical or process industry.

  • Sales Skills: Strong planning, forecasting, negotiation, and presentation abilities.

  • Technical Communication: Proficient at conveying technical information clearly in English, both written and verbal.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmaceutical processing equipment, FDA regulations, and standards such as cGMP, ISPE, and USP.

  • Work Style: Self-motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working independently as well as part of a team.

  • Detail Orientation: Proven ability to deliver timely and accurate feedback to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office and experienced in CRM software (SAP CRM preferred).

The typical starting base pay for this position ranges from $100,000 - $130,000 per year. GEA Group has varying base pay ranges based on specific work locations within the United States.

This pay range is not a guarantee, as final offers depend on multiple factors like skill set, experience, location, and other job-related reasons. Candidates may qualify for additional rewards, such as discretionary bonuses and/or equity awards.
