The Certified Medical Assistant is accountable for assisting the providers in front and back-office procedures. The incumbent has the added responsibility of providing a direct liaison between provider and patient, making certain that the appropriate provider has addressed any patient questions or concerns. Certified Medical Assistant working in a Medical Home and/or medical group setting will be an integral part of the patient s care team. They will work side-by-side with other members of the patient s care team, including healthcare providers and nurses. This position in these settings will be required to do more during the rooming process; from reviewing medications, to goal setting, to patient education. They will also be expected to assist with the tracking and coordination of patient test results, with reminding patients of overdue health maintenance topics, and with assisting other members of the Medical Home Care Team in delivering optimal patient-centered care.
