This role ensures manufacturing processes meet evolving internal and external customer requirements including safety, delivery, and cost targets. It blends expertise in manufacturing systems, facilities management, product innovation, and operations management to drive continuous improvement for a leading building materials manufacturer and distributor. Essential duties and responsibilities (not limited to): • Optimize manufacturing processes by identifying and eliminating waste while maximizing equipment uptime. Leverage expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, controls, and materials; collaborate with equipment vendors and gather operator insights. • Develop and refine and production methods by analyzing product requirements, designing, testing, and improving manufacturing techniques and equipment. Partner with vendors to ensure effective solutions. • Lead new product introductions through design, specification, feasibility testing, and deployment to strengthen competitive advantage. Ensure readiness through safety evaluations, manufacturability assessments, control plan development, and reliability planning. • Evaluate existing products and packaging designs for VA/VE opportunities • Manage capital projects for the Diamond Kote business unit, including selection, justification, budgeting, and implementation, while minimizing operational disruptions. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date facility documentation, including master CAD files. • Define, maintain, and uphold standards for manufacturing resource requirements, operating conditions, and process parameters across all manufacturing processes. • Monitor safety, quality, and operational performance metrics. Analyze data to identify trends and implement corrective actions. • Lead, mentor, and manage engineers and technical staff to deliver innovative and efficient solutions for products, equipment, and facilities. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize initiatives and align engineering efforts with long-term business strategy • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, industry publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) • 5+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years in a leadership or management role. • Proven track record in process design, control systems, equipment, and facilities project implementation. • Strong project management and organizational skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. • Demonstrates leadership, high personal standards, and the ability to make critical decisions.
