Part-Time Veterinary Administrative AssistantDepartment: General Practice Hospitals Employment Type: Part Time Location: Academy Animal Hospital of Laurinburg Reporting To: Practice Manager Description We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Part-Time Veterinary Administrative Assistant to support our busy animal hospital with a variety of operational and client-facing tasks. This role is vital in maintaining the smooth flow of day-to-day activities and enhancing both team efficiency and client experience. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, is proactive, tech-savvy, and enjoys a mix of administrative work, communication, and light marketing responsibilities. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and update social media platforms with engaging, brand-consistent content
- Complete and maintain weekly/monthly safety checklists
- Support scheduling for team members and optimize doctor/tech appointments
- Make and manage pointer/retriever calls and shop calls
- Assist with client communication campaigns (email, text, print)
- Maintain and complete trackers for team performance, metrics, and compliance
- Support inventory management: ordering, tracking, and reporting shortages
- Assist with accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up and documentation
- Participate in marketing initiatives and help coordinate hospital/community events
- Generate and support reporting for leadership meetings or initiatives
- Assist with onboarding coordination for new hires (checklists, system access, paperwork)
- Conduct reminder verifications and support client compliance
- Identify opportunities for schedule optimization for doctors and team efficiency
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Prior experience in a veterinary, healthcare, or client-service environment is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in social media platforms and basic digital tools (Google Workspace, Canva, etc.)
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Professional, friendly, and team-oriented
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally (e.g., supplies, small equipment)
- Sit, stand, or walk for extended periods as needed
- May require occasional evenings/weekends for events or seasonal needs
