Overview: The Hospital Operations Administrator is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overseeing the operations of a 175-bed acute care hospital. This role focuses on achieving established goals and objectives while leading initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of care, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with various regulatory standards including those set by state and federal agencies as well as The Joint Commission. The administrator will embody transformational leadership to deliver exceptional care to the communities served and represent the hospital and Cone Health in the community and with strategic partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute effective business strategies by aligning human resource strategies with operational needs, recruiting and developing a high-performance leadership team, and fostering a work climate that supports diversity and high levels of employee commitment and customer service.
  • Lead site operations, including strategic planning, financial management, quality of patient care, and team leadership.
  • Provide visionary leadership that drives accountability and inspires top performance in service delivery.
  • Strategize and implement the long-term vision for the hospital, identifying market needs, establishing strategic goals, and aligning initiatives with value-based care strategies.
  • Maintain organized management systems to ensure operational smoothness, timely goal achievement, and overall viability, focusing on revenue generation for long-term success.
  • Build effective relationships with the medical staff to ensure loyalty and meet community health needs while advancing quality, patient safety, and satisfaction.
  • Cultivate community relations and strategic partnerships that promote the interests of the organization and enhance the well-being of the communities served.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accrediting standards, representing the hospital in communications with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Recruit, coach, develop, and retain a diverse talent pool for effective patient care, financial performance, and staff engagement.
  • Stay current with national healthcare initiatives through active participation in relevant organizations and associations, ensuring professional growth and development.
  • Implement effective marketing and communication strategies in collaboration with marketing and key partners.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Required: Master's Degree in Health Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: Required: 5-7 years of experience in acute care hospital leadership; Preferred: Experience in a large multi-hospital organization.
  • Licensure/Certification: Required: None specified; Preferred: Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
