The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, the leading champion of empowerment and opportunity, is seeking a dedicated and motivated administrative professional with a passion for serving others to join our Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) team as a LIHEAP Specialist.
Major responsibilities include:
- Conduct client intake, assessments, and provide exceptional customer service
- Collect and verify required documentation to determine household eligibility for LIHEAP assistance and other funding sources.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry in compliance with program guidelines.
- Handle routine administrative tasks, including mailing, printing, scanning, copying, and faxing transmittals daily.
- Maintain organized client files and documentation in accordance with state and agency standards.
- Prepare and generate reports according to established deadlines.
- Provide call center support.
- Participate in outreach initiatives and represent the agency at community events.
- Maintain detailed logs and client records per state and internal procedures.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A high school diploma and college course work in social services or related human service field are desirable, an associate's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in customer service and administrative support
- The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced computer skills preferred.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Successfully complete a comprehensive background screening process.
