ESC has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist who's ready to make a meaningful impact across premier client's family of companies-in property management, real estate services and development. You'll play a vital role in ensuring accurate payroll processing, maintaining employee records, and supporting both accounting and HR operations. This is more than a numbers job. It's a people-first role where your attention to detail, strong communication skills, and passion for getting things right will shine. The position is fully onsite in Kenosha, WI and moves to hybrid after training is complete and is a contract-to-hire opportunity. What You'll Do
  • Process and record bi-weekly payroll across multiple business units using ADP Workforce Now
  • Set up and update team member profiles within the HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Maintain employee files and assist with onboarding processes.
  • Ensure payroll compliance and support reporting needs.
  • Administer garnishments and manage benefits-related payments and records (insurance, FSA, etc.).
  • Prepare and record commissions.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance on audits, tax filings, and system improvements.
  • Own day-to-day accounting transactions and assist with general ledger entries.
  • Lead small system enhancement or payroll automation projects as needed.
  • Support the HR team with administrative and project-based tasks.
What You Bring
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of payroll or accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity or construction environment.
  • Familiarity with ADP and HRIS systems; experience with AppFolio is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, analytical, and able to manage shifting priorities with ease.
  • Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Tech-savvy with strong Excel and accounting software skills.
