Commercial Mortgage Production Associate

The Commercial Mortgage Production Associate within Multi Family Capital (MFC) will be working with bank clients, interfacing with leaders and key personnel from MFC, the Government Sponsored Enterprise (GSE) customers, and other Wells Fargo Bank clients.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with a manager to manage deals from initial screening to underwriting handoff.
  • Assisting in overseeing the client relationships when requested.
  • Accountable for the loan analysis on standardized templates and communicates preliminary sizing and pricing indications to manager and Group Head(s) based on business unit and GSE policies.
  • Reviewing borrower proformas and identifying key issues/risks to address upfront.
  • Continuing to develop multifamily real estate knowledge through ongoing training and active participation in industry seminars and symposiums.
  • Preparing detailed financial narratives on transactions conveying the key strengths and weaknesses of transactions for internal credit and agency review.
  • Coordinating with producers, managers, and Head of Production to refine quotes and resolve waivers or threshold issues with agencies and/or the Senior Credit Officer.
  • Interfacing with manager and borrowers to achieve consensus on terms, drafts application, and conveys application to Producer for issuance to borrowers.
  • Preparing and submitting third party request form upon issuance of loan application in order to accelerate preparation for engagement.
  • Maintaining intricate knowledge of Agency (Freddie/Fannie) underwriting guidelines.
  • Following borrowers acceptance of application, briefs designated underwriting team regarding transaction, commissions third party reports, and transfers source documents, loan analysis, agency correspondence and other vital information into shared network screening depository.

Required Qualifications:

2+ years of Business Client Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Real Estate underwriting experience or strong ability to interpret and research loan origination, legal, or other real estate documents
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including high level of proficiency in modeling; strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience guiding and mentoring more junior associates or analysts

Job Expectations:

  • Candidates for this role will be required to work in-office 4 days a week.

This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CFR 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

Pay Range:

$120,000.00 - $196,000.00
