The Laboratory Technical Training Specialist is part of the Customer Solutions team and is responsible for delivering approved training curriculum to North America customers for Core Lab products. The technical training will include basic operations and troubleshooting, and will be delivered either in a training center, virtually, or at the customer site. This position will support all Siemens Healthineers Core Lab portfolio, with an initial focus on the Atellica Solution and CI Analyzer, the most innovative solutions in the Laboratory Diagnostics industry. This hybrid role is also responsible for delivering FlexForce solutions during engagements at customer sites. FlexForce assignments will vary based on contracts and can take place anywhere in the US for several consecutive weeks at a time.

The ideal candidate is a medical technologist with experience in technical training. This role is based in the Tarrytown, NY office and the candidate should live within commuting distance from Tarrytown, NY. Travel needs will vary based on business needs, up to 25%.

This is a role well suited to a dynamic and ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Technical Training Specialist, you will:

  • Facilitate in-person and remote, basic and advanced training programs
  • Provide technical input and update instructor-led and computer-based training curriculum and pilot new programs as needed
  • Lead advanced programs curriculum updates to meet customers needs and business goals
  • Troubleshoot problems and successfully maintain instruments when working in the training laboratory
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to stay current and standardize training content. Work independently to interface with outside departments and effectively represents the Customer Solutions team.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to increase customer satisfaction and customer retention

Responsibilities during FlexForce assignments:

  • Provides information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analysis
  • Ensures operations of analyzers
  • Performs system implementation of Siemens analyzers and provides support post implementation to ensure successful transition with customers
  • Provides on-the-job training to laboratory staff during operation
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects the hospital by keeping information confidential
  • Works in accordance with government regulations, FDA and OSHA; works in accordance with the Siemens Diagnostics Quality System, including adherence to all applicable training requirements and enforcement of all company safety guidelines
  • Lead by example, demonstrate and promote the company culture and values
  • Assist as needed to perform other related duties and special projects to support business needs
  • Travel in North America as required up to 90%

Required skills to have for the success of this role:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with people in a wide range of organizational roles and education levels are required
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Must be flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
  • Excellent attention to detail, good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Understanding of the operations and workflow of a laboratory
  • Customer focused mindset
  • Team player with a high degree of flexibility and capacity for adaptation on a changing business environment
  • Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or equivalent required with a minimum of 2 years laboratory experience in chemistry/immunoassays
  • Experience in customer training on laboratory equipment
  • Computer skills are required including proficiency with Microsoft TEAMS, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

The pay range for this position is $92,000 - $124,000 Annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
