Overview

The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions, reviewing, organizing, and compiling management reports on a timely basis, and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions. They also communicate concerns and issues to management and perform guest service duties such as check-in, check-out, switchboard operation, and reservations.

Responsibilities
  • Work with and understand financial information and data, including basic arithmetic functions.
  • Cross-train in other accounting or hotel-related areas.
  • Prioritize job functions to meet deadlines.
  • Perform guest services functions (check-in/out, reservations, calls).
  • Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports (Daily Operating Report, Tax Reports, etc.).
  • Prepare and distribute month-end reports.
  • Audit and reconcile Front Desk and Food & Beverage Cashiers work.
  • Audit, reconcile, and transmit credit card transactions promptly.
  • Ensure accuracy of reported numbers and statistics.
  • Update financial information into the corporate network.
  • Perform data processing system functions regularly.
  • Inform management of operational or financial issues.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Respond to governmental inquiries.
  • Handle guest requests.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of experience in a hotel or related field.
  • Guest Service experience preferred.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Flexible with long hours, including late/overnight shifts.
  • Sedentary work involving lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally.
  • Maintain a friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Comply with hotel standards and regulations for safety and efficiency.
  • Maximize productivity, identify problems, and implement solutions.
  • Handle problems proactively and confidentially.
  • Show initiative and anticipate guest or operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
