Job Description
A Night Auditor is responsible for handling both Front Desk and Accounting duties. The Night Auditor oversees the auditing, posting, and balancing of the daily financial transactions to support the Hotel's efforts to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. This includes reconciling daily revenue and expenses, ensuring correct billing and accurate recording of credit card transactions. The Night Auditor also greets, registers, and checks guests in and out of the hotel.
Job Responsibilities:
- Audit, post, and balance daily cash transactions for the hotel
- Accurately post all room fees, taxes, and other charges to guest accounts
- Verify all account entries are balanced; resolve discrepancies and settle guest accounts
- Create financial reports and ensure proper distribution to departments
- Reconcile credit card transactions and verify cash postings
- Organize daily transaction paperwork
- Greet guests professionally and handle registration and check-out procedures
- Answer phones, transfer calls, and take messages
- Make, modify, and cancel reservations
- Follow credit card procedures and maintain accurate cash handling
- Respond promptly to guest needs and requests
- Ensure the front desk is stocked and understand hotel emergency procedures
- Collect payments, make change, and perform other related duties as requested
