Responsibilities:
- Responsible to maintain coverage for all open shifts
- Weekly 1:1 meetings with Development Director
- Review time cards and approve time bi-weekly (Monday)
- Attend weekly meetings with all other supervisors and Development Director
- Conduct monthly Behavioral Health Technician meetings as a group, along with the Development Director
- Promote consistency at all times
- Follow the on-call procedure for site
- Audit all daily checklists
- Audit kitchen for Department of Health standards
- Taking ownership when problem solving
- Follow chain of command
- Notify the Development Director when any corrective action is needed within 24 hours of incident
- All corrective action needed to be completed and presented within 72 hours of incident
- Ensure Development Director is involved in all Disciplinary Action meetings
- Complete monthly rounding and keep on file
- Have on-call phone once per month
- Email Development Director maintenance requests within 24 hours if non-emergency
- Check kitchen every morning for cleanliness
- Conduct/coordinate fire drills once per month
- Follow up daily to ensure that the client UA's are completed
- Show recognition on a weekly basis through email and include the Development Director
- Send weekly emails to the Development Director about hiring needs
- Train and develop new hires
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of program philosophy and policies and procedures, Rule 45G requirements, house operations, including client rights and confidentiality
- Complete and assist counselor with intake/admission procedures, orientation of new clients and coworkers
- Encourage clients to achieve their goals by functioning as a positive role model
- Participate in client recreational activities with a positive attitude
- Serve as a resource for clients through knowledge of services and opportunities in the community
- Administer client medications and document accordingly
- Documentation of client information in the communication's log and completion of other forms
- Clearly understand the program mission and how this work integrates with and advances the goals of the program
- Use sound decision making skills, exhibiting good judgment and realistic understanding of issues
- Objectively document client-related topics in client files and communication logs
- Be diplomatic and exhibit sensitivity toward other staff and client's feelings, needs, values and opinions
- Have a willingness to seek assistance in making decisions
- Continuously seek out to improve by suggesting solution to operational struggles through soliciting input form co-workers including treatment director
- Respond constructively to feedback with an open mind
- Interact, communicate and collaborate with team members to support the mission of NBH
- Demonstrate behavior that shows employee is striving to maintain a positive environment by role modeling appropriate language and using respectful social skills
- Participate in staff meetings
- Maintain current knowledge of facility/house and client activities
- Plan work tasks to coincide with programming requirements
- Set priorities in monitoring clients, completing rounds, documentation of pertinent information and completion of other assignments
- Available, in a friendly, respectful, dignified manner to clients for questions and other assistance
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Is highly dependable and can be counted on to work independently, having the ability to work with little direction
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Successfully complete a background study
- Must know and understand the implications of 245G, sections 245A.65, 626.557, and 626.5572, and Chapter 260E.
- Must understand and follow NBH's Drug and Alcohol Policy
- Must be eighteen years old
- CPR and First Aid certified or willing to participate in courses provided by NBH
- Must have a valid Minnesota driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet research
- Physical ability to perform the responsibilities of the position which include, bending, stopping, sitting, walking and lifting at least 30 pounds
