The Branch Director leads our NYC office. They are responsible for the delivery of the full range of services regarding the daily operations of our clients and act as the primary point of contact for them, identifying needs and coordinating the large variety of the clients' requests with the appropriate ZEDRA experts. They provide both leadership and supervision to the local staff.
They are responsible for all aspects of the clients' management and oversee accounting, HR, tax and legal matters.
The ideal candidate can showcase astrong experience in reviewing full monthly management accounts.
They will work closely with the Managing Director in the areas of business development, systems and process improvements, engagement management, client relationships, and staff development.
Salary range for this position is $175,000 – $200,000
Key Accountabilities
Client Relationship and Business Development:
- Act as the primary point of contact for current and prospective clients
- Answer clients questions in a timely manner and manage requests according to priorities and time available
- Identify areas of clients' risks and proactively propose solutions and offer additional services, in coordination with the Managing Director
- Maintain knowledge of current business trends and client needs
- Identify markets and customers for potential sales and new client acquisition
- Complete an Annual Quality Review for the top 3 clients of their portfolio
Accounting:
- Oversee the implementation of operational functions and maintain accounting policies in conformity with the clients' procedures
- Review and ensure the General procedure is up to date and in line with the client's needs
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable
- Supervise bank, cash situation, and general ledger reconciliation
- Supervise month-end closings
- Establish and maintain internal controls
- Serve as a liaison to external auditors
- Assist and train clients' staff if necessary
Reporting & Tax:
- Ensure that transactions are properly supported and classified in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Prepare or supervise preparation of reporting/consolidation package for foreign parent company
- Prepare/review monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements and obtain formal approval from the client on annual financials
- Review and or provide necessary information for corporate tax returns including but not limited to apportionment template, inter-company account reconciliation, foreign bank account, ultimate shareholders, etc.
- Coordinate tax return preparation with internal Tax Team or external CPAs and update Salesforce tax return database
- Complete an initial review of tax notices and escalate to Tax/Legal teams as necessary
Special Assignments:
- Quarterly reviews
- USGAAP conversion
- Memorandum to auditors
- Assistance to budget preparation
- Accrual basis to Cash basis conversion
Human Resources Management:
- Assist HR-Payroll team and Advisory in the implementation of benefits and relocation
- Supervise payroll processing, ensure that expense reports are reimbursed and employees are paid on time
- Verify Accounting is reconciled with Payroll reports on a quarterly/annual basis
Internal Management:
- Lead the NYC office and work in close collaboration with the Managing Director, HR and Finance to address operational challenges
- Supervise a team of accountants (including recruitment, training and evaluation)
- Document and regularly update procedures for each client (to optimize the transfer of information)
- Actively review the AR aged balance for their client portfolio and ensure the collection of the invoices in a timely manner
- Update Salesforce database (services, contacts, sales tax, tax return) and implement appropriate controls to ensure other databases are updated
Knowledge & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years of public accounting or financial reporting experience
- Extensive knowledge of financial accounting, human resources, tax and legal regulations
- Customer oriented, with excellent communication skills
- Previous experience supervising a team
- Ability to delegate tasks to supervised staff and control that tasks are completed
- Aptitude to train and retain supervised staff
- Able to multitask and switch tasks according to client's priorities
- Ability to work as part of a team in a multicultural environment
- Ability to document procedures and ensure that supervised staff follows instructions
- High degree of confidentiality
- Strong knowledge of Accounting software, we use Sage50, Quickbooks and client's internal software, such as SAP or NetSuite
