As a Power BI Technical Lead, you'll play a central role in shaping enterprise data analytics strategy by architecting scalable solutions, defining development standards, and leading technical innovation across reporting and visualization. This is a hands-on leadership position with strong influence over the BI roadmap and Power BI ecosystem, focusing on semantic layer design, performance optimization, and implementation of best practices. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, governance teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact insights and help standardize data usage across the organization—all within a remote and forward-thinking IT environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, performant semantic models tailored to current and future reporting needs.
  • Develop and maintain the Power BI technical roadmap and architectural standards.
  • Serve as the go-to technical authority for Power BI across the organization, leading implementation of dashboards, advanced analytics, and data visualization.
  • Establish best practices in Power BI development, including DAX optimization, data security, and reuse of components/templates.
  • Collaborate with data governance and engineering teams to align modeling standards and optimize data flow architecture.
  • Lead technical troubleshooting, performance tuning, and advanced feature utilization (e.g., custom visuals, Power Query).
  • Oversee testing frameworks, documentation practices, and implementation of automated testing for BI solutions.
  • Continuously evaluate new Power BI features and recommend enhancements to improve analytics maturity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence with 4+ years of hands-on Power BI development.
  • Proven expertise in Power BI semantic modeling, DAX programming, and performance optimization.
  • Strong experience with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and dashboard/report development.
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and Azure DevOps practices.
  • Practical knowledge of paginated reports, security standards, and modern testing frameworks for BI.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, architectural thinking, and the ability to drive standards across teams.
  • Competitive salary starting from $88,590 to $128,455 USD annually, based on experience and location.
