General Job Description:

This individual must function as a technical project leader for the organization, responsible for expediting the process flow of jobs through the shop from post-order entry to shipment. All work must be performed in a timely and cost-effective manner. The engineer is required to perform complex engineering and/or design tasks that involve developing new and improved techniques and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Intermediate level professional
• Two or more years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment
• Five or more years of manufacturing/sheet metal/welding fabrication knowledge
• CNC machining/programming experience is a plus
• A.S. Degree in Engineering required; Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Degree (B.S.) preferred

Specific Duties:

Develop and manage all phases of the quoting process, including creating a Bill of Materials for purchasing, calculating material usage, etc.

Perform project management duties such as cost estimating, manufacturing engineering, and ensuring quality production and timely shipping of customer orders.

Create detailed drawings for flat blank layouts using CAD software.

Monitor actual job costs against quoted costs.

Drive process improvements to reduce costs.

Assist in writing process sheets (Travelers) for jobs.

Update programs with any modifications from previous runs.

Design machining, inspection, and assembly fixtures.

Provide technical guidance to operators as needed.
