What is the opportunity?

This position involves selling first mortgage and concurrent second loan products to existing and potential clients in diverse communities. Responsibilities include outside sales activities to develop new business, expanding client relationships through mortgage products, using consultative sales skills, meeting clients to assess needs, presenting multiple mortgage solutions, and ethically marketing the bank's mortgage products in the assigned territory. Travel to prospective client and referral source locations is required, with follow-up by phone or email. Candidates must be in good standing under 'The Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008' (Safe Act) and be registered or able to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry.

What will you do?

• Originate residential mortgage loans and related bank products through professional relationships.
• Visit clients and referral sources at their locations to prospect and originate loans.
• Provide ethical loan counseling.
• Coordinate between the bank and customers during processing and underwriting.
• Complete loan applications following bank policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Develop sourcing strategies to meet goals.
• Achieve sales and business development targets.
• Stay updated on sales techniques, products, legal and industry trends.
• Use relevant software systems proficiently.
• Attend sales meetings, training, and bank functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including community engagement and supporting underserved communities.

What do you need to succeed?Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• At least 5 years of retail residential mortgage sales experience.
• At least 3 years of mortgage or financial experience in community lending.
• Minimum 5 years working with diverse and underserved clients.
• Good standing under Safe Act and registration with NMLS.

Additional Qualifications

• Preferred network of referral sources.
• BA/BS degree preferred, especially in business, finance, or economics.
• Strong sales and marketing skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Experience with Net Oxygen, Salesforce, Blend, Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of mortgage credit policies and compliance standards.
• Compliance with SAFE Act requirements, including background checks and NMLS ID.
• Support for CRA efforts and underserved communities.
