Responsibilities:
Negotiate and purchase refined products below industry indices to achieve budget.
Propose, execute, and validate opportunities to lower cost of goods through diversification of supply methodology including, but not limited to, bulk inventory shipped to market (e.g., pipeline, rail, barge, etc.), blending, and spot purchases.
Continuous improvement to optimize laid-in costs of refined products.
Develop supply acquisition capabilities through building industry networks and supplier relationships.
Manage inventories to ensure adequate supply with minimal overstock.
Preserve value of bulk refined products purchases and stored inventory through financial/papertrading
Analyze/Forecast supply, demand, and market dynamics to ensure capture of opportunities and mitigate risk
Partner with stakeholders in various disciplines (e.g. operations, technology, accounting, etc.) to improve processes and ensure successful execution of the supply strategy through development and measurement of key performance indicators.
Provide transparency on success, failure, performance, and projections to Executive Team through metrics analysis and reporting.
Educate and mentor co-workers; build institutional knowledge that will ensure sustainability
Requirements:
Five (5) to fifteen (15) years of refined products supply negotiation and logistics experience inChicago, NYH, and/or Gulf Coast markets
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Diverse tactical supply experience to include bulk inventory shipped to market (e.g., pipeline, barge, rail, etc.), blending, day deals, and spot purchases
Leadership competencies
Expert risk manager
