Job DescriptionSummary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with city, NYS, and federal partners to formulate grant applications for Hurricane Ida and Ophelia.
- Organize and lead meetings with internal and external partners to maximize grant funding for damages incurred.
- Develop financial reports to track purchase orders and paid invoices related to Hurricane Ophelia.
- Gain expertise on FEMA laws and regulations through training and research.
- Lead meetings with facility partners to gather procurement and contractual documentation for grants.
- Collaborate with OFD and disaster recovery consultants to detail emergency and permanent work projects.
- Manage communications about mitigation projects to protect facilities from future disasters.
- Familiarize with FEMA mitigation grant types, application processes, and toolkits.
- Assist with FEMA Benefit Cost Analyses and shadow disaster recovery consultants.
- Support facilities in applying for and maintaining flood insurance.
Hurricane Sandy – Metropolitan Hospital Portfolio
- Manage Sandy portfolio (~$180M).
- Assist with FEMA version requests, coordinating documentation with various departments.
- Organize and submit reimbursement requests and respond to RFIs.
- Monitor project budgets and progress.
- Process change orders, ensuring approvals.
- Present FEMA Public Assistance policies to new team members.
Other Resilience Grants
- Coordinate with NYCEM and OFD on federal and state funding opportunities.
- Understand grant eligibility and requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Baccalaureate Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
- Two years of experience in systems analysis, development, and implementation in business, government, hospital, education, or non-profit sectors; familiarity with EDP applications.
- Masters Degree in Management, Business Administration, or related fields may be considered equivalent to one year of experience.
- Satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
Department Preferences
- 2+ years in grants management or finance roles.
- Experience with NYC agency processes.
- Financial analysis skills.
- Knowledge of FEMA policies, processes, documentation requirements.
- Budgeting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Experience with Peoplesoft Finance.
