Position: Credit Manager Location: East Syracuse, NY Salary: $70,000 $80,000 / Year Job Type: Full-time

About the Role:

We are seeking a Credit Manager to join our team at Tracey Road Equipment, Inc. The Credit Manager is responsible for managing the credit and collections process for customers. This includes evaluating creditworthiness, setting credit limits, monitoring account performance, and ensuring timely collections in accordance with company policies. The position is based in East Syracuse, NY.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and evaluate credit applications for new and existing customers.
  • Set and maintain appropriate credit limits based on financial analysis and credit risk.
  • Monitor customer account activity and aging reports; take proactive steps to address delinquencies.
  • Oversee the collections process, including contacting customers, negotiating payment plans, and resolving disputes.
  • Work with the sales team to release or hold orders based on credit status.
  • Maintain updated credit files and documentation for all accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with dealership policies and applicable regulations regarding credit and collections.
  • Prepare and present regular credit performance reports to management.
  • Assist with lien filings, UCCs, and title processing as needed.
  • Collaborate with external collections attorney as necessary.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to AR and credit.
  • Design and implement processes and procedures to streamline the credit rating system and improve evaluation of creditworthiness.
  • Lead and support the Accounts Receivable team by overseeing training, performance management, and day-to-day coordination of responsibilities.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with customers to support business objectives.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 2-3 years of related experience OR Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Strong understanding of credit principles, financial analysis, and collection practices.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and dealership management systems (IE: Procede or similar).
  • Experience with credit application processing software, preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
