To that end, we are dedicated to providing our faculty, students, trainees, and staff with the support, education, and resources necessary to ensure a culture of integrity in every aspect of their work.Position Summary:The Disclosure Specialist is part of the Disclosure Office and reports to the Assistant Director. The Disclosure Office oversees the review and management of Conflict of Interest (COI) and Commitment (COC) disclosures; the preparation, review, processing, and documentation of conflict of interest cases; provides assistance to the COI Committee; and facilitates education and compliance initiatives.UMD uses an electronic disclosure system to manage the disclosure and review process. This position supports university employees (disclosers) in the disclosure process providing guidance from disclosure to disposition.The Disclosure Specialist must maintain working knowledge of federal policies related to COI and keep abreast of any new procedural requirements and policies; Monitor new developments in COI regulations, rules, and laws and analyze the impact of such changes on the research community; and participate in the development of COI campus policies, guidance, and procedures.This role will assist faculty members with disclosures, policy inquiries, and any other necessary requests related to the disclosure process. They will independently review, analyze, and determine the appropriate level of review for disclosures submitted by UMD employees to ensure the completeness of the disclosure, identify discrepancies and potential issues, and compliance with applicable federal regulations, state statutes, and institutional policies, procedures, and principles.The Disclosure Specialist will support Disclosure Office Leadership in preparation for COI committee meetings, all after action requirements; and serve as a non-voting member of the COI Committee. Other duties as assigned.Physical demands:Sedentary work performed in a normal office environment; exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Ability to attend meetings both on and off campus. Spending long hours in front of a computer screen.Licenses/certifications: Not ApplicableMinimum QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.Experience: Three (3) years of experience in related field.Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.Required Skills and Qualifications:
