This position handles inbound calls and frontdesk duties for a medical practice. Responsibilities include answering calls, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance and demographic information, documenting interactions, assisting with forms and maintaining a smooth patient flow. Staff must ensure HIPAA compliance and provide excellent customer service. Responsibilities Include
- Answering telephone calls and greeting patients and visitors; providing information and assistance.
- Scheduling and confirming appointments; optimizing provider time and treatment room utilization.
- Verifying insurance eligibility and patient demographics; collecting copayments and updating accounts.
- Documenting calls, messages and appointment details accurately in the EHR.
- Assisting patients with paperwork, referrals and preauthorizations.
- Maintaining a tidy and welcoming reception area and upholding confidentiality policies.
Ideal Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or equivalent; experience in a medical office or call center preferred.
- Proficiency with phone systems, scheduling software and electronic health records.
- Strong communication, multitasking and problemsolving skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
