The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an immediate opening for two (2) Messenger Clerks in its Mail/Messenger Unit. The Unit is responsible for providing and ensuring efficient and effective mail services to support the case related work of the office. In this position, the Messenger Clerks, under direct supervisor from the Unit Supervisor, will perform routine and non-routine mail/messenger tasks in a customer-centric manner. In addition to the Minimum Qualification Requirements, candidates must possess the following: High school diploma or GED. Minimum of two (2) years of mail/messenger experience. Valid NYS Driver License that is in good standing. Ability to perform specific physical tasks involving carrying and moving mail and parcels. Preferred Requirements/Skills: Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word and Excel). Some familiarity with industry mailroom and messaging equipment. Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to work with frequent interruptions, adapt to changes in workflow, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, prioritize among competing needs, and respond quickly to requests for information. Follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines. Interact with all levels of staff and vendors. Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment. Detail oriented. Self-motivated.
Hours/Shift - Monday Friday from 9 AM 5 PM. Ability to work overtime and flexible hours including holidays, evenings, and weekends.
