POLICE SERGEANTDUTIES: Provides leadership, supervises, plans, organizes, coordinates and directs the activities of assigned squad, unit, or work shift in general law enforcement, investigations, technical or support operations. SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process will consist of a background investigation and a post-offer process, which includes pre-employment drug testing, a medical, polygraph, and psychological exam. Qualifications and Requirements Experience, Education and Training. Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice / Criminology, or a related area; or its equivalency of a minimum of 60 semester hours with an emphasis in Criminal Justice / Criminology;AND - At least two (2) consecutive years of service within the last 5 (five) years with the Springfield Police Department as a Police Corporal or higher rank;OR - At least eight (8) consecutive years of service as a Police Officer or Police Recruit of which two...Police, Police Officer, Security
