As directed by the Superintendent, the Director of Safety and Security oversees the creation, execution, and assessment of the District's comprehensive safety and security plans. The Director supervises the Safety and Security Supervisor and oversees the security staff. Working alongside district and school officials, staff, parents, and students, the Director ensures that effective strategies are implemented to maintain a secure school environment in compliance with the Illinois School Code and state and federal regulations. Educational and Certification Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, education, public administration, or a closely related field is required. Master's degree is preferred. Graduate of an Executive Leadership training program such as the FBI National Academy, Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command, or a similar program is highly preferred.
