About the Role We are hiring two Claims Specialists to support a high-performing, collaborative team specializing in air ambulance claims, member appeals, and insurance reimbursement. This is a unique, detail-oriented role focused on out-of-network claims, member advocacy, and relationship-building with employers, patients, and insurance providers. While prior healthcare or air ambulance experience is a plus, we will provide thorough, on-the-job training-so long as you bring a strong foundation in medical A/R, collections, and RCM. You'll need to be proactive, inquisitive, and resourceful, with a proven ability to dig deep into complex claims and ensure accurate resolution. This is not a rote production role-each case requires thoughtful problem-solving, communication, and documentation. Key Responsibilities
- Manage 25-30 insurance claims per day, prioritizing accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
- Navigate out-of-network claims and reimbursement workflows
- Conduct eligibility and benefits verifications, including air ambulance-specific criteria
- Investigate and process member appeals (not provider appeals)
- Gather and submit prior authorizations, medical records, and required documentation
- Collaborate with patients, families, employers, and insurance providers via phone, email, and online chat
- Maintain detailed records in accordance with HIPAA and internal documentation standards
- Track personal productivity and quality metrics to qualify for monthly incentive bonuses
Training & Schedule - Initial Training Duration: ~90 days (flexible depending on performance)
- Training Hours: Monday-Friday 6:30 AM - 3 PM AZ time start (8-hour shift with 30-minute lunch). More schedule flexibility available after the first 90 days.
- Training Format: Fully virtual via Microsoft Teams (screen sharing + interactive support)
- Post-Training Schedule: Monday-Friday - Flexible start time between 6:00-8:00 AM AZ time; must remain consistent once chosen
Work Location - Hybrid model preferred: Must be able to commute to North Scottsdale, AZ office 1-2x/month for team collaboration or company events
- Fully remote considered for the right candidate with proven experience and self-motivation
