Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer with extensive experience in AWS (Amazon Web Services) and UHD/HDR (Ultra High Definition/High Dynamic Range) technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of application development and deployment, with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable streaming solutions.

This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing streaming workflows to ensure seamless UHD/HDR content delivery across multiple platforms. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and lead technical projects.

This role is critical to delivering high-quality live sports broadcasts for the Boston Bruins and Red Sox. Youll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge broadcast technology, lead innovative projects, and be part of a team that brings sports to life for millions of fans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Streaming Workflow Design:
    • Design and implement scalable, high-performance streaming workflows for UHD/HDR content.
    • Optimize live and on-demand streaming encoding, transcoding, and packaging processes.
  • AWS Integration:
    • Leverage AWS services (e.g., MediaConvert, Elemental, CloudFront, S3, Lambda) to build and manage streaming infrastructure.
    • Develop and maintain cloud-based content delivery, storage, and processing solutions.
  • UHD/HDR Expertise:
    • Ensure the highest quality of UHD/HDR content delivery, including accuracy, bitrate optimization, and device compatibility.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to UHD/HDR streaming workflows.
  • Application Development:
    • Collaborate with application development teams to integrate streaming technologies into custom applications.
    • Develop and maintain APIs and SDKs for streaming services.
  • Monitoring and Analytics:
    • Implement monitoring tools to track streaming performance, latency, and quality of service (QoS).
    • Analyze data to identify and resolve bottlenecks in the streaming pipeline.
  • Innovation and Research:
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies in streaming, UHD/HDR, and cloud services.
    • Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance streaming performance and user experience.

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in network streaming, video encoding, and content delivery.
    • Proven expertise in AWS cloud services, particularly Media Services (e.g., MediaConvert, Elemental, CloudFront).
    • Hands-on experience with UHD/HDR technologies and workflows.
    • Strong understanding of video codecs (e.g., H.264, H.265/HEVC, VP9) and streaming protocols (e.g., HLS, DASH, RTMP).
    • Proficiency in application development and integration, including APIs and SDKs.
    • Familiarity with monitoring and analytics tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, New Relic, Datadog).
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

    Additional Qualifications:

    • Experience with DRM (Digital Rights Management) and content security solutions.
    • Knowledge of AI/ML applications in video streaming and content optimization.
    • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
