The Chief Engineer manages the maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems throughout the hotel and oversees the Engineering and Security Departments. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs, leading safety initiatives, coordinating capital MEP improvement projects, managing outside contracts, and developing comprehensive engineering manuals. The role also involves leadership, mentoring, training, and performance evaluations of team members, along with ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Were seeking a dynamic Chief Engineer to build and lead our engineering team, oversee state-of-the-art systems, and ensure smooth operations behind the scenes, enabling guests to focus on adventure and relaxation. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform, assign, and verify routine and emergency maintenance of the hotels physical structure and systems.
  • Ensure high-quality work standards and safety compliance.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service standards personally and through the team.
  • Assist with hiring, training, supervising, and developing staff.
  • Utilize online work order systems and distribute workflow efficiently.
  • Maintain inventory of PPE, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Support compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Lead safety programs and attend relevant meetings.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and special projects as needed.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support risk management activities.
  • Maintain professionalism and cleanliness in mechanical areas.
  • Be available 24/7 for emergencies and flexible shifts.
  • Oversee Security team operations, create SOPs, and ensure security device functionality.

Qualifications

We seek a proven leader with technical expertise and a safety-first approach. The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least five years' experience in facilities management within hospitality.
  • Successful track record managing preventive maintenance and capital projects.
  • Strong command of English, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions under pressure, and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues.
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and energy management.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, maps, and diagrams.

Safety Requirements:

  • Adherence to OSHA standards and PPE usage, including gloves, eye protection, and respiratory equipment as needed.
