As a prospective Purpose-Built Communities Network Member, the organization is committed to a holistic, resident-first approach that ensures North Tulsa's neighborhoods not only grow but thrive.Position PurposeThe Education Director is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing a Cradle-to-Career model in the Hawthorne and Whitman neighborhoods. The intent of the model is to create a high-quality, neighborhood-serving continuum for student growth, learning, and achievement at every level starting at birth and through college and beyond.Responsibilities/Essential DutiesDevelop and lead a cradle-to-career education strategy tailored to the specific needs of Hawthorne and Whitman neighborhood residents.Build and maintain partnerships with schools, early learning centers, postsecondary institutions, and community-based organizations to align efforts and resources.Design and manage data-informed programs and initiatives that promote school readiness, academic achievement, and postsecondary access and success.Facilitate neighborhood-level working groups that include residents, educators, and service providers to ensure the education pipeline is community-driven.Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of goals, benchmarks, and evaluation metrics related to the education continuum.Monitor and report on program performance, including preparing regular updates for leadership, funders, and community stakeholders.Advocate for educational equity and work to remove barriers that impact student success, especially those experienced by historically marginalized populations.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure education efforts are integrated with housing, wellness, and economic strategies.Manage education-related grants and budgets, including compliance, reporting, and sustainability planning.Represent Northside Neighbors at education-focused meetings, coalitions, and events at the local, and regional levels.Participate in all organizational events and support broader efforts of Northside Neighbors as needed.Other duties as assigned.Education And ExperienceBachelor's degree required, preferably in Education or a related field; Master's degree strongly preferred.Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in education, youth development, or community-based work.Proven experience leading cross-sector partnerships that include schools, families, and community-based organizations.Familiarity with education systems and policy at the local and state levels, with a strong understanding of early childhood through postsecondary transitions.Demonstrated track record of working in under-resourced urban communities with a culturally responsive and asset-based lens.Experience supervising staff or managing project teams is highly desirable.Skills And AbilitiesVisionary leader with the ability to align educational strategy with community aspirations and organizational goals.Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and evaluation.Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to authentic community engagement.Skilled communicator with proficiency in public speaking, written communication, and facilitation.Analytical thinker capable of interpreting data and turning insights into actionable strategy.Culturally competent and empathetic, with a deep understanding of the North Tulsa community.High cultural competence and sensitivity to issues of equity, race, and social justice.Comfort with ambiguity and adaptability to shifting community needs and organizational priorities.Technologically proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and education-focused data systems (e.g., Bright Futures, PowerSchool, etc.).Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion (e.g., event materials).Ability to stand, walk, or be physically active during community events or outreach activities.Must be able to work both indoors (office setting) and outdoors (community events, neighborhood canvassing).Must be able to travel locally and occasionally out of town as required.Hours and LocationThis is an in-person position based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.Evening or weekend hours may occasionally be required for events and community engagement.Some travel required for professional development, networking, and training.This is primarily an office-based role with periodic fieldwork in the community.Additional RequirementsMust have a valid driver's license and active automobile insurance.Must pass a background check prior to employment.About Our BenefitsAs part of our overall compensation package, we offer work/life flexibility, comprehensive health benefits, paid time off, and generous retirement contributions designed to support you and your family.Details100% employer-paid medical, dental, and long-term disability for full-time employees only.
