In 2009, the Ricketts family assumed ownership of the Chicago Cubs and established three main goals for the organization: Win the World Series, Preserve and Improve Wrigley Field, and Be a Good Neighbor.HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:The Chicago Cubs organization is looking for a motivated and career driven individual to assist with delivering a best-in-class fan experience at Sloan Park, the Cubs spring training facility, in Mesa, Arizona. The Event Operations Associate is an entry level full time, seasonal position (September 2024- April/May 2025). The selected candidate will support overall event logistics and gameday experience at Sloan Park including, but not limited to security, gameday presentation, signage, transportation and parking, gameday setup, sponsorship activation, and customer service problem resolution. This seasonal position is a great opportunity to build your events and operations career within the sports industry. No relocation expenses will be provided.THE DAY-TO-DAY:Guest Experience Provide personalized, positive, and memorable guest experiences during events.Assist in resolving guest issues during events.Provide exceptional customer service to all guests, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.Assist in creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for fans and attendees.Assist in monitoring the changing needs of our fans/guests.Event Operations Support operational activities relating to game day activations and outside events including but not limited to Arizona Fall League, Spring Training, and other private eventsSupport execution of ballpark readiness plans in all areas of guest services including, but not limited to, parking, ballpark entrance, and fan amenities.Assist with editing and coordinating production and installation of graphics and signage throughout Sloan Park including, but not limited to, player artwork, direction signage and sponsor signs.Assist with the event execution and management of non-baseball events at Sloan Park.Support game-day activities including but not limited to pre-game, in-game and post-game activitiesPerform other duties as assigned by Mgr. of Guest Experience & Event Ops. Gameday Presentation Assist in the coordination and execution of game entertainment, including national anthem singers, recognitions, and other on-field activities.Ensure all presentation elements are delivered with high quality and in line with event objectives.Assist with writing event scripts and control room timelines. WHAT YOU'LL BRING:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.Demonstrated customer service skills.Highly detail oriented and organized.Flexible to the ever-changing demands of eventsEffective communication skills, both written and oral. Demonstrated passion and personal drive to grow within the organization. Must be available to work September through end of March. Ability to work non-standard work hours with variable schedule, to include nights, weekends, and holidays.WHAT SETS YOU APART:1 - 2 years prior event or customer service experience.
