Waste Connections has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Clerk for our Carlsbad, NM location. The Maintenance Technician spends their day assisting the Maintenance Department with administrative tasks, and shop work. This position is a full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.This position has about 60 to 72 hour work weeks. On top of competitive pay we off family benefits, 401k, vacation and year-round work.PAY RANGE: $20-$24/hr.RESPONSIBILITIES:Gather, input, retrieve and maintain maintenance information in both computer and manual systemsProvide general clerical work to assure the smooth operation of the Maintenance Department while communicating with the Maintenance ManagerGeneral clerical duties, including filing, photocopying, Scanning, posting of notices, and ordering of parts and supplies as directedDevelop and issue computer reports as requestedAssist with and/or prepare materialsCompile information such as identification of items, cost, vendor, freight charges, etc. for purchasing of all maintenance materialsReview documents for sufficiency and maintaining any necessary follow-upMaintain all files and inventory records of all orders placed and received, including delivery time schedulesUtilize parts management software Excel, and other office programsMaintain parts warehouse and inventories in accordance with Company policyDemonstrates the knowledge and effective use of software applications. These systems should include as a minimum MS Word and ExcelAssist shop personnel with repairs/PMs on equipmentREQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or equivalentFamiliar with vehicle, hand/air/battery powered tools and equipment parts to assist shop personnel with equipment repairsExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and E-Mail, proficient in 10 key, keyboarding and typing skills a mustExcellent verbal communications skillsMust be able to lift 50 lbs.Highly OrganizedWaste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
