The Deposit Operations Assistant - Level 1 plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day functions of the bank's deposit operations. This position is responsible for accurately processing and verifying routine banking transactions, maintaining customer records, accounts payable and delivering exceptional internal and external customer service. The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of bank policies and procedures, and the ability to accurately perform a variety of clerical and data entry duties in a fast-paced environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Accurately input and update customer and account information in the bank's core processing system.Process incoming and outgoing mail, statements, and transaction records.Balance accounts and verify data integrity for deposit-related activities.Assist customers by phone, in writing, and in person with inquiries related to deposit accounts, including account maintenance, transaction questions, and general support.Specialize in either deposit or general operations, with opportunities to cross-train and provide backup coverage as needed.Maintain a thorough understanding of the bank's products, services, policies, and system operations.Foster positive relationships with customers and colleagues through clear, courteous, and professional communication.Receive, review, and process vendor invoices accurately and timely.Match invoices to purchase orders or check requests and obtain necessary approvals.Prepare and issue payments to vendors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with bank policies.Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable files and documentation.Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies professionally and efficiently.Assist in monthly reconciliations and audits related to accounts payable functions.Perform other operational and administrative tasks as assigned by management.Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or banking experience preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer applications; accurate keyboarding and calculator skills essential.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.Must be dependable, adaptable, and willing to assist during high-volume or peak activity periods.Clear understanding of the bank's operational procedures and the ability to follow them consistently.
