Overview Safety Manager LOCATION: White Sands, New Mexico JOB STATUS: Full-time CLEARANCE: Secret (Active) Certification TRAVEL: Estimated Up to 20% Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Safety Manager to support the Army Division on the WSMR Mission Support Services program. Required Qualifications / Skills
- Education:
- Bachelors in Science (BS) in a Safety related safety/environmental related discipline.
- Candidates without a BS degree and who possess more than 7 years equivalent applied field experience within safety and quality control aspects may be considered.
- Certifications:
- Training in safety/environmental courses, seminars, or certifications
- i.e. OSHA 10 and 30 General and Construction, Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).
- Experience:
- Professional safety training and a minimum of three (3) years experience in demanding and diversified safety environments.
- Experience with the operations and maintenance of military equipment such as weapons and vehicles.
- Must be knowledgeable of OSHA, DOT, and NFPA Regulations.
- Accomplished written and oral presentation skills in developing safety training materials.
- Hands-on experience in emergency response or investigation.
- Security Clearance:
- Must possess active Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety and health procedures in compliance with corporate, state, federal, local, and contract regulations.
- Ensure OSHA compliance across the organization through the facilitation and enforcement of safety processes.
- Manage the safety audit program for field activities and facility operations to maintain strict adherence to OSHA, state, test range, and contractual requirements.
- Provide guidance and safety expertise to support compliance with safety-related contract obligations.
