Job DetailsLevelExperiencedJob LocationHaverhill, OHMechanical EngineerThe Mechanical Engineer ensures the reliability, integrity, and compliance of plant equipment and systems at ALTIVIA's Haverhill, OH site. This role supports the implementation of mechanical integrity and reliability programs in a PSM-covered facility, with a focus on rotating equipment, pumps, boilers, and cooling towers. The ideal candidate will have experience with refurbishment projects, preventive maintenance programs, and regulatory compliance, along with the ability to collaborate across teams to improve reliability and performance.Responsibilities: Mechanical Integrity & ComplianceSupport the implementation of mechanical integrity and reliability programs aligned with RAGAGEP and OSHA PSM standards.Maintain compliance with PSM requirements, including documentation, Management of Change (MOC), and participation in internal and external audits.Develop and maintain procedures and training materials to support ongoing compliance and program consistency.Preventive Maintenance & InspectionDevelop and manage preventive maintenance (PM) and inspection programs for rotating equipment, pumps, boilers, and cooling towers.Monitor PM schedules, track completion, and ensure inspection records are accurate and up to date.Review repair histories and inspection data to identify deficiencies, high-failure components, and areas requiring repair or replacement.Reliability & RefurbishmentParticipate in engineering evaluations and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and performance of mechanical systems.Coordinate refurbishment and repair efforts, with a focus on rotating equipment and other mechanical assets.Support lifecycle management efforts by identifying trends and proposing long-term reliability strategies.Troubleshooting & Technical SupportInvestigate equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Provide technical support for troubleshooting, job planning, and work execution across maintenance and operations teams.Assist in piping and vessel design, including basic stress analysis.Additional ExpectationsMay be required to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays, to support critical plant operations.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance, mechanical integrity, or reliability within industrial or chemical manufacturing (5 years preferred).Working knowledge of rotating equipment, pumps, boilers, and cooling towers.Familiarity with PSM compliance and mechanical integrity elements.Experience with preventive maintenance programs, inspections, and corrective action planning.Strong understanding of reliability principles and general equipment lifecycle practices.Proficiency in CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Maximo) and engineering tools such as AutoCAD is a plus.Solid troubleshooting, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations and maintenance teams.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance, mechanical integrity, or reliability within industrial or chemical manufacturing (5 years preferred).Working knowledge of rotating equipment, pumps, boilers, and cooling towers.Familiarity with PSM compliance and mechanical integrity elements.Experience with preventive maintenance programs, inspections, and corrective action planning.Strong understanding of reliability principles and general equipment lifecycle practices.Proficiency in CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Maximo) and engineering tools such as AutoCAD is a plus.Solid troubleshooting, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations and maintenance teams.
