Job Description Albany, NY Area Events Manager for Yankee Home Yankee Home Location: Albany, NY Reports to: Director of Marketing Operations Type: Full Time, Schedule subject to vary according to business needs Job ID: ZR_25_JOB Job Summary The essential function of the Events & Retail Manager is to lead a team of promoters to generate qualified leads that could produce a sale for the company. They are responsible for finding new events and retail opportunities to ensure that event and retail sales and gross profit goals are reached. They are also responsible for coaching, mentoring, motivating, training, and holding the promoters accountable. The Events Manager will be expected to promote and adhere to the workplace values of Yankee Home.   • Prior events management experience in retail environments.
  • Prior experience managing day-to-day operations and staff.
  • Prior experience maintaining budgets for the business plan detailing events, sales, expenses, head count and wages.
  • Be a self-motivated success maker and a problem solver.
  • Have excellent verbal communication background, and proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrate positive attitude, approachable, and friendly personality.
Schedule: The schedule will vary based on the needs of the marketing department each week. The employee will work a full time schedule including weekends and some evening shifts when necessary. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Create a fun work environment that allows promoters to be competitive towards weekly and monthly goals
  • Develop retail partnerships and maintain good relationships with store managers.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing at retail locations and events.
  • Effectively and constantly recruiting new brand promoters.
  • Monitor punches and department's payroll.
  • Submit monthly bonus reports.
  • Prepare and maintain the events budget for the business plan detailing events, sales, expenses, head count and wages.
  • Keep the displays clean, presentable, and in great condition.
  • Work scheduled shifts at events with energy, excitement, and focus.
  • Be available to work most weekends.
  • Always represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Ensure Events specialists and yourself follow the dress code and personal appearance: including good personal hygiene, professional attire, and cleanliness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud at times.

Physical Demands:
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • The employee must be able to drive to the event locations and set up booth displays.

Requirements:
  • Must have your own vehicle and maintain auto insurance (100k/300k plan)
  • Be available to work most weekends.

  • Able to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent from an accredited four-year college
  • Or four years' related experience and/or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • The salary range is 60k- 80k- this will be built out between salary and performance-based bonuses.
