HonorVet Technologies is seeking a local contract nurse Correctional for a local contract nursing job in Brooktondale, New York.
Job Description & RequirementsJob title: Registered Nurse
Shift: 11:30 am to 10 pm, alternating weekends.
Summary of Need: To provide nursing interventions and medication administration consistent with the established systematic problem-solving approach for the delivery of comprehensive nursing care, which are compliant with the regulatory standards in a juvenile correctional setting.
Facility Overview:The youth served at MSC are male, adjudicated, juvenile delinquents who are placed with OCFS by Family Court. Depending upon the sentence, youth may remain in OCFS custody until the age of 21. MSC is accredited by the American Correctional Association and has a current population of approximately 27 youth. Currently, there are no vaccine requirements. Supervision staff will be present when the employee is providing nursing care to youth.
Other duties include, maintain inventory standards for medicines, controlled drugs and narcotics. Review the overall health condition of youth by preparing and continually reviewing and evaluating plans of nursing intervention to ensure that such interventions are consistent with specific and comprehensive treatment plans. Participate in staff training, prepare clinical and administrative reports, maintain infection control standards, and function as a member of a treatment team. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.
