Job Type Full-timeDescriptionWe are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our healthcare team as a Patient Services Representative. This critical role serves as the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment.Job Title: Patient Services RepresentativeReports To: Site ManagerDepartment: ClericalSupervises: N/ALocation: On site - Westfield NYTravel Required: Position Type: Full-time 40 hours per weekPay Information: $15.50 - $19.50 per hourSUMMARY:The Patient Services Representative greets and identifies patients and visitors coming into the office in reference to daily schedules. Verifies pre-visit documentation is current and complete. Also provides patient with post-appointment summary and schedules next appointment.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Check patients in by collecting needed information required for visitAssist patients with self check-in kiosk if neededVerify demographics and insurance informationSchedule patient for next office appointment and give summary when leaving officeCollect copay and balance due by patientComplete daily scan of incoming mail and recordsComplete daily cash out and depositHandles cash bag per policyWork within designated tank to call patientsMaintain office cleanliness set by OSHA standardsMaintain strict HIPAA standards related to patient informationParticipate and communicate in team meetings to identify and problem solve processesMay assist in other departments as neededAny additional duties as assigned by managementRequirementsQUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:At least six months of experience in a customer service role requiredExperience in a medical office role preferredHigh School Diploma or GED requiredAssociates Degree in related field preferredPREFERRED SKILLS:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsMedent experience preferredExcellent customer service skills requiredStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft SuitePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS Indoor office environment, free from excessive noise and dust.Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computerFrequent standing and walking to assist patients and perform administrative tasksAbility to lift and carry up to 15 pounds (e.g., office supplies, files, small packages)Manual dexterity for operating standard office equipment (keyboard, phone, scanner, copier, kiosk)Visual and auditory acuity to interact with patients, verify documentation, and process information accuratelyOccasional bending, reaching, or stooping to retrieve supplies or filesAbility to speak clearly and listen actively to communicate with patients, visitors, and team membersReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
