Job Summary:
The Patient Service Representative is responsible for providing professional customer service to ensure operational efficiency and promote a positive patient experience. Responsible for Patient Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Registration, Insurance Verification, and ensures patients have been cleared for HomeCare visits.
The Patient Service Representative performs a variety of secretarial, billing and clerical duties to include: utilizing the electronic medical record (EMR) to schedule follow up and specialty appointments and process patient charges, coordinating referrals, preparing the proper paperwork and collecting pertinent patient information, answering phones, performing other related duties as assigned. Provides administrative support to the office staff.
Job responsibilities:
Provides support to the Front Desk/Reception area and provides general administrative support:
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree.
Experience: Experience in a Customer Service role.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
Comfort and ability to handle confidential information.
Comfortable working in a fast paced, evolving customer service environment with patience, flexibility and attention to detail.
Proficient skills in windows-based software (including word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation programs).
Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians and managers.
